YASKAWA Electric Corporation (Head Office: Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan; Representative Director, Chairman of the Board and President: Hiroshi Ogasawara ) announces the launch of the collaborative robot MOTOMAN-HC35 with 35 kg payload capacity and 2030 mm reach. The new model succeeds the highly acclaimed MOTOMAN-HC20DTP and offers an expanded working envelope and payload capacity, along with improved installation flexibility and ease of use.

MOTOMAN-HC35
In recent years, the application of collaborative robots has expanded due to a growing labor shortage caused by the decline in the working-age population. In particular, growing demand for the handling of larger and heavier workpieces has created new opportunities for collaborative automation. To address these needs, Yaskawa developed the MOTOMAN-HC35, which offers a higher payload capacity and extended reach compared with the MOTOMAN-HC20DTP.
Featuring a slim arm design, reduced manipulator weight, and newly own-developed torque sensors, the MOTOMAN-HC35 improves ease of use and safety. This design saves space and provides faster response in the event of a collision.
The MOTOMAN-HC35 helps improvement of productivity and reduction of manufacturing costs.
(1) Higher payload capacity and longer reach
MOTOMAN-HC35 has a payload capacity of 35 kg and a reach of 2,030 mm, expanding the range of applications for factory automation. In addition, its increased wrist moment capacity further enhances its ability to handle larger and heavier workpieces.
For example, in palletizing applications, the robot can transport heavier workpieces, pick multiple products simultaneously, and achieve higher stacking heights. In screwdriving applications, it delivers fastening torque exceeding 200 Nm throughout its operating range.
(2) Enhanced Safety and Productivity
MOTOMAN-HC35 incorporates newly own-developed torque sensors that improve collision detection and response performance. This enables faster operation in collaborative environments while minimizing impact forces in the unlikely event of contact with personnel. As a result, manufacturers can achieve both higher productivity and improved workplace safety. The robot also offers smooth and intuitive hand-guiding functionality for easy teaching and operation.
(3) Superior installation flexibility
The slim, compact arm design minimizes interference with surrounding equipment and enables access to confined spaces. In addition, the robot’s footprint has been reduced to φ270 mm, compared with φ380 mm for the MOTOMAN-HC20DTP, allowing installation in more space-constrained production environments.
(4) Built-in application cables
Application cables, including a Cat6A Ethernet cable, are integrated within the robot arm as standard. This internal cable routing minimizes the risk of interference with peripheral equipment and simplifies integration with end-effectors by providing connections directly at the wrist.
